Vanilla custard is a classic dessert. And for good reason. Everyone remembers being allowed to scrape the rest out of the pot when mum or gran used to make custard – unforgettable!
For us, custard is, of course, very special indeed, as it was how our company started out. Our vanilla-flavoured custard dessert takes just like granny used to make it after Sunday lunch. With its fine vanilla flavour, it’s popular among kids and grownups with a sweet tooth, served hot or cold. It’s quick and easy to make with milk for pure vanilla pleasure.
Ingredients: starch, salt, flavouring, colours (riboflavins, annatto norbixin).
Method:
- Set aside around 6 tablespoons of the 500 ml (1/2 l) milk and mix with the dessert powder and around 2 heaped tablespoons of sugar (40 g).
- Bring the rest of the milk to the boil. Remove the milk from the hob, add the mixed powder and bring to the boil properly again, stirring constantly.
- Pour the dessert into dessert glasses or a glass bowl and chill.
To turn out: Pour the dessert into a mould rinsed with clean water, chill and turn out when fully cooled.
