With the help of the Dr. Oetker Buchteln baking mix, a delicious yeast pastry can be conjured up in no time at all, which can be served both as a main course and as a sweet dessert. The fluffy Buchteln with dessert sauce with vanilla flavour can be filled with seasonal fruit or puree as desired and are a real highlight for enjoying together with family and friends.
Ingredients: WHEAT FLOUR, sugar, starch, dry baker‘s yeast, salt, flavouring, colouring (carotene), emulsifier (E 491). May contain: EGG, SOY, MILK.

Preparation:
Required ingredients: Just add: for the dough: 175ml milk 100g butter 1 egg (size M) for brushing: and 25g butter for the sauce: 20g sugar and 500ml milk Tip: If you would like a filling: – 200g fruit, e.g. apples – or 150g puree, e.g. plum jam
- Prepare and prepare dough Grease casserole dish.
- Heat the milk in a saucepan and melt the butter in it.
- Pour the baking mix for the dough into a mixing bowl. Add yeast and mix carefully.
- Add warm milk–butter mixture and egg.
- Mix everything with a mixer (dough hook) briefly on the lowest setting, then on the highest setting for about 5 minutes to form a smooth dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes until it has visibly enlarged.
- Melt the butter for brushing the rolls.
- Knead the dough briefly on a lightly floured work surface and shape into a 24 cm roll. Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces. Shape pieces of dough into balls.
- Place the rolls in the tin and brush with the butter.
- Let rise for another 15 minutes in a warm place.
- In the meantime, preheat the oven. Top/bottom heat: about 180°C Hot air: about 160°C Put the dish on the rack in the oven. Insert in the middle of the oven
- Baking time: 25-30 min.
- Prepare sauce Mix the sauce powder with sugar in a small bowl. Gradually mix with at least 6 tablespoons of the milk. Bring the remaining milk to a boil, remove the pot from the heat and stir in the mixed powder with a whisk. Bring the sauce to the boil again vigorously while stirring and serve with the still warm dumplings. TIP: For any filling, place a piece of fruit or puree in the middle of each piece of dough and press the edges together well.
